Case Study: Fulvic Gold Boosts Rice Yields by Up to 69% in Laos Trial
📍 Location: Tha Ngon, Lao PDR
🌾 Crop: Wet Season Rice (CR203)
👨🌾 Grower: Keo Keomoungkhoune
⏱ Trial Period: July–October 2019 | Update: 2021
Objective
To evaluate Fulvic Gold's impact on wet-season rice yields under real-world, commercial growing conditions.
PLEASE NOTE: The results presented in this case study were based on trials using a solid-form humate. Fulvic Gold is a liquid formulation derived from the same humate source, optimized to deliver high concentrations of bio-available fulvic acids for efficient uptake and ease of use. While formulation differs, the underlying active compounds and source material remain the same.
Background
With rising demand for rice, especially for premium uses like Beer Lao, growers in Lao PDR sought more sustainable and cost-effective ways to increase yields. This trial was designed to determine whether Fulvic Gold could enhance production and profitability using standard farming practices.
Methodology
The grower's rice farm was divided into four plots, each flood-irrigated and managed identically—except for the application of Fulvic Gold.
- Fulvic Gold was applied to three plots at increasing rates (0.108–0.142 L/m²)
- One plot was left untreated as a control
- NPK fertilizers were applied at planting and again one month later
- All rice was planted in July 2019 and harvested in October 2019
- Yield was measured in 70 kg bags and recorded per square metre
Soil type: Sandy loam
Soil pH: 4.4
Rainfall: 2,200 mm average annually
Results at Harvest
| Plot | Application Rate (L/m²) | Yield (kg/m²) | Yield Increase vs. Control |
|---|---|---|---|
| Control | 0.000 | 0.156 | — |
| Plot 1 | 0.108 | 0.227 | +45% |
| Plot 2 | 0.140 | 0.245 | +56% |
| Plot 3 | 0.142 | 0.265 | +69% |
- 2018 baseline: 5 bags (350 kg)
- 2019 with Fulvic Gold: 8 bags (560 kg)
- Quality rating: Outstanding — Grade A
👉 The highest application rate (0.142 L/m²) produced a 69% increase in yield over the control.
2021 Follow-Up: Long-Term Effect Confirmed
Even without further applications, the grower reported:
- Average 50% yield improvement across both wet and dry seasons
- Fulvic Gold’s benefits persisted for over 3 years, including under water-stressed conditions in 2020
Conclusion
The results demonstrate a clear, positive correlation between Fulvic Gold application and significantly increased rice yields, even in challenging soil conditions.
- Yield gains of up to 69%
- Improved soil fertility and crop resilience
- Long-lasting benefits from a single application
This trial confirms that Fulvic Gold is not just effective—it’s a transformative input for rice growers seeking higher returns and long-term soil health.
